Child Care
Daniel Boone Child Care has been providing quality child care to the general public since 1996. The center is located in Manchester, Kentucky. The child care center is housed in approximately 2,500 square
feet and licensed to care for thirty-seven (37) children. Service includes infant care, toddler care, and school age children (Age 0-12). The center is a fee-for-service center. The center operates on fees paid by the parents for service and subsidized payments from the state.
Criteria for Eligibility
- Each child must be at least six weeks of age to attend.
- Each child must have an up-to-date immunization certificate.
Hours of Operation
We are open Monday through Friday 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM. We have a full time food service cook who prepares two nutritious meals per day for the children: breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. We participate in the Child and Adult Child Care Program administered by the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). All meals are served free regardless of race, color, sex, age, disability, or national origin. Breakfast begins at 9:30 AM, lunch begins at 12:00 PM and the afternoon snack begins at 3:00 PM. The after-school snack begins at 3:30 PM.
About Our Staff
All the staff members at the center are certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and First Aid annually. The following background checks are required by the Office of Inspector General, Division of Licensed Child Care: Kentucky Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse/Neglect Check. All staff must have a TB Skin test every two years. Employees who work in the center’s kitchen must have a Food Service Handler’s certification. Also, employees must complete a total of 15-18 hours of Child Development Training annually. The center Director has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and is certified as a Type I Director.
About Our Center
Our center offers three areas for three different age groups of children: infant, toddler, and school age. A variety of age appropriate education activities are planned for each day. We have two fenced in playgrounds, one for the younger children and one for the older children. Outside play is part of our daily schedule. At Daniel Boone Child Care, our main goal is to provide a safe and clean environment for your child. We know that your child is the most important and precious thing in the world to you!
We are very proud to announce that Daniel Boone Child Care is a participant in the STARS for KIDS NOW Program, Kentucky’s voluntary child care rating system. This program means that we are a step above the Kentucky licensing regulation standards.
We have already earned our second star and are currently working toward our third star!
Our Rates
The fee-for-service is as follows:
- Ages 2 and under : $140.00/week
- Ages 3 and older : $135.00/week
- After-School 3:30-5:30: $130.00/week
- Drop-In Care: $28/day
