About TBRA

The Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) program helps eligible households with security deposits and utility deposits to support safe, stable housing. This program is available to low-income and fixed-income households who are experiencing housing instability and need help securing a new residence.

*Utility deposit assistance is available only when provided with security deposit assistance.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the TBRA program, applicants must meet the following guidelines:

  • Must be homeless or facing eviction from their current residence

  • Must have a source of income to pay rent and utilities after moving

  • Must meet income eligibility guidelines

  • Must not have moved into the residence prior to receiving assistance from Daniel Boone Community Action Agency, Inc.

  • The residence must pass a Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspection

DBCAA’s TBRA program is available in Clay, Jackson, Laurel, and Rockcastle Counties.
