About Housing
The Housing program helps eligible low-income families achieve safe, affordable homeownership.
DBCAA manages every step of the process, from coordinating home construction to providing affordable financing options designed to fit each family’s income. Home construction and repair costs are subsidized based on eligibility, with interest rates ranging from 1% to 5%. Monthly housing costs, including principal, interest, taxes, and insurance, are structured so they do not exceed 29% of a household’s monthly income.
Housing services may include:
- Affordable home construction
- Home repair assistance (if applicable)
- Subsidized financing based on income
- Affordable monthly housing payments
Who’s Eligible?
Applications are accepted year-round from eligible households in Clay, Jackson, Laurel, and Rockcastle Counties. Applicants must meet federal income guidelines.
To learn more about eligibility or schedule an appointment, contact your local DBCAA office.
