Daniel Boone Transit Receives Award
Daniel Boone Transit was awarded the Outstanding Public Transit System Award for Eastern Kentucky at the 2015 Kentucky Public Transit Association Conference held in Lexington, Kentucky, August 9-14, 2015. Daniel Boone Community Action Agency, Inc., dba Daniel Boone Transit, provides over 150,000 trips and travels over 2 million miles annually in the mountainous counties of Clay, Jackson, Lee, Owsley and Wolfe Counties.
Daniel Boone Transit operates on a demand-response system, which means you must call the transit office in your county and request transportation in advance of the trip. Transportation can be for shopping, medical appointments, education, employment or just to visit a friend, etc. Affordable fares are charged for transportation services.
This system is a consistent partner and valuable member of the public transit community and has been in operation since 1986. They can be relied upon by their communities and by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to continue to provide these invaluable services no matter the weather, the terrain, or economic turn. Customer service is the heart of the business. Every client is valued and treated with the utmost respect and care.
